The Music Department at Conway High has been very busy lately.

Since marching season and competitions are over with, the band has been working on music for their Christmas Concert.   The band performed Monday, December 17 at James Clark Auditorium at 6:30 pm. They also participated in a pep rally at the Bob Courtway December 14. In addition to these performances, Courtside Cats have been preparing for basketball season, and  CHS hosted Jazz Region on December 15.

The Wampus Cat Choir held their “Just Desserts of Christmas” performance in the Main Building Lobby. The CHS Choir will turn their attention to preparing for CPA in the spring and any All State Qualifiers will be prepping music for All State Tryouts in February.

The Orchestra has been working hard as they prep for the Full Orchestra Concert that is set for January 17. Mr. Buck, the Main Orchestra Director, said, “In addition to the CHS string orchestra, select wind, brass, and percussion players from the CHS Band in the performance of full symphonic music. We’ll also be joined by members of the CHS Camerata Singers for our finale.” Seniors Gail Oudekerk, Violin, and Will Ward, Cello, will be performing as soloist with the Full Orchestra.
