Conway Cruises Past Har-Ber in Opening Round

The Wampus Cats made quick work of their first round playoff opponent Friday night, defeating the Springdale Har-ber Wildcats 68-31 at John McConnell Stadium in Conway. Conway, the 3 seed out of the 7A, fell to Bryant on the road in the regular season finale before facing the 6th seeded Wildcats.
Conway would waste no time taking over the game, as the cats quickly built up a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, before taking a 42-7 into the halftime break. Har-ber would finally find consistent offense in the second half, but three Desmond Davidson touchdown carries would keep Conway ahead for good as the Wampus Cats move on to the 7A Quarterfinals.
Conway Quarterback Donovyn Omolo passed for 4 passing touchdowns and rush for another all in the first half. Desmond Davidson would rush for over 100 yards on just 6 carries in addition to his 3 second half touchdowns. Davidson said it’s important for him to be at his best during the postseason “It’s really important to me to preform my best so I can gain the trust in the coaches and show them that I’m good enough to be in the game.”
The Wampus Cats will travel to Fayetteville for a rematch of lasts years 7A Semifinals against the Bulldogs. The Wampus Cats will be looking to advance to the 7A Semifinals for the third straight year with a win.
