The Chinese Moon Festival was celebrated at Conway High School on September 22. Mrs. Chen, Chinese club leader hopes to integrate Chinese culture into schools and clubs.
All the students enjoyed the hands on learning experiences and interactive activities learning about Chinese Culture.
Some of the activities that the Chinese club members got to participate in were making the Chinese mooncakes and sampling regular mooncakes with the goal of creating a sense of community and understanding of Chinese culture. Mrs. Chen, the club leader, said “The events helped build cross-cultural understanding. This shows student development and integration of culture.”
Conway High offers a variety of clubs, with the Chinese club being just one of many. Students have the opportunity to engage in cultural activities and learn more about different countries and their celebrations and holidays.
