Freshman basketball player, Karsen Roach, has carried her team acting as a leader as well as the wonderful player she is. In every circumstance, Roach always gives whatever it may be her full attention, devotion, and commitment. So naturally, that includes her basketball team within the many hours she spends here at the school practicing, or even out of town playing, just to get home very late that night to wake up and do it all over again the next morning. Although everything was going perfectly for the first semester, as the season was setting itself up to begin, the recent Christmas break threw her a bit of a curve. While simply having a good time with no worries in the world, incidentally, Roach came across glass that cut two of her fingers on her left hand into a clean opening. Although that night you would’ve found Roach in the Emergency Room getting stitches, her attitude was nothing but calm and collective. She knew that everything would eventually be okay.

In short, over the break, Roach missed a week of tournaments, but she didn’t let that stop her from showing up to support her team. Presently, each game the fingers are thoroughly bandaged due to the pain and inability they cause on her left hand. Roach was back in the game as soon as she could’ve been, even with her stitches still in just days after she had first gotten them. Once again, her full attention, devotion, and commitment is put into the game she loves. To know her is to love her and the wonderful person she is to so many, even outside of basketball. The small incident took no toll on her, and she’s still dominating her hobby within each and every game she plays. Bumps in the road are always meant to be passed!
