Multiple popular artists have released new songs within the past week, including Billie Eilish, Khalid, Lauv, LANY, Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, and the Jonas Brothers. Billie Eilish released “Everything I Wanted”, Khalid released “Up All Night”, Lauv and LANY collabed to release “Mean It”, Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes collabed for a remix of Swift’s hit song “Lover”, and the Jonas Brothers released “Like It’s Christmas”.

These new songs were expected due to the artists announcing them prior to the release day; however, some were predicted before their announcement, such as the Jonas Brothers’ song “Like It’s Christmas”. The brothers had changed their Instagram profile pictures to them as cartoons with Santa hats on their heads, causing fans to put together the pieces that a song would soon follow their subtle hinting; little did they know, they would be correct.

These new releases elicited positive reactions from listeners and fans alike, one of them being Senior Sydney Greathouse, a fan of Billie Eilish’s new song. “I like how the tempo of the song matches the rises and falls of the lyrics story. It was cool when she talked about how her ‘head [was] underwater’ and the audio switched to her sounding like she was actually underwater,” said Greathouse.
