The Wampus Cat baseball team continued their winning streak in dominating fashion Friday night, defeating the Central Tigers 14-0 at Wampus Cat Field in Conway.

The bulk of the Conway offense came in the third inning, with the Cats driving in 10 of the teams 14 total runs during the bottom frame. Starting pitcher Austin Rainey kept the Tigers scoreless through the first three innings, including working out of a one out, bases loaded jam in the top of the second. Preston Prock would come on in the fourth to slam the door on the Tiger offense, as the Conway offense added another 4 runs in the bottom frame to clinch a mercy rule 14-0 victory.

Prock said following the win “The win on Friday really boosted our confidence a ton heading into the postseason because we continue to prove to ourselves that we can compete with anyone in the state. We are heading into another big week of conference play and I can tell you that we are more than ready.” The Cats are hopeful for favorable outcomes as they move into the postseason.

The Wampus Cats concluded the regular season this week with a Tuesday trip to Little Rock Catholic where they fell 8-1.  The Cats recognized Seniors Wednesday against Maumelle where they lost 5-1. The Cats host Bryant Friday night for the conclusion of the regular season.
