Conway Baseball Makes Field Improvements
January 30, 2023
Over the few days following Christmas, Conway Baseball parents and players gathered at the field to make some improvements. The most notable was removing the green paint on the dugouts, concession stand, and backstop to change the field’s color scheme to fit Conway’s signature color, blue.
After this was done, painters were hired to finish the job. Also, the batting cages were torn down and remodeled to allow for both pitchers and hitters to be able to practice. Two cages were created parallel to each other with sliding nets that would allow for quick changes to the cage length. This extension of the cages allows pitchers to throw bullpens and batters to hit from longer distances away. There are future plans to remodel the dugouts, so the chain-link openings to both dugouts were torn down as well.
On the changes, junior catcher Braden Bramlett said, “The blue paint is a nice change of scenery that really fits the Conway theme.” The blue paint and new cages will serve both an aesthetic purpose and help to improve performance for the baseball team.
