On Monday morning, January 30, 2023, Conway’s FBLA loaded up on buses and headed to UCA for the District Conference. District Conference is a big competition for students as it determines whether they get to go to State to compete or not. State will be held in Little Rock on April 3rd and 4th. This Conference had many categories for FBLA to compete in things such as Banking management to Graphic design. I talked to Ellie Matthews who competed in Job interview and she seemed satisfied with the Conference. “This year I competed in a job interview and got 3rd place. I’m excited to move forward to State competition. I love the opportunity that FBLA has given me and other students. It’s a great way to learn new skills you will need when you’re older,” stated Matthews. Conway overall did very well as the majority placed well and will be moving onto State competition. Examples include Will Worthen, Will Childers, and Hayden Raycher placing 1st in Banking management and Cole Robinson, Layton Coney, and Larson Coney placing 2nd in Graphic Design. It was overall a good real world learning experience and students are ready to compete in State.
