Last night, seniors Tate Jones, Emily Zimmerman, Ella White, Megan Smith, Brooklyn Ferguson, and Kim Quinit led Conway volleyball to victory over Southside to win a spot in the state championship for the first time since 2018.
The game went to four sets with scores of 25-20, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17. This win meant a lot for the Wampus Cats considering that Southside defeated them in the semifinals a year ago. This time, Conway is the one moving on though with super impressive showings from their senior leaders. Megan Smith had 15 kills, Emily Zimmerman finished with 12 kills, Ella White added 24 assists and four aces, and Kim Quinit racked up 18 more digs.
They will take on the Fayetteville Bulldogs at 11 on Saturday in Hot Springs. “We are very, very, very excited and nervous,” said Jones. “I’m proud of all the hard work we have put in to this season to get to this moment.”
