Senior Football Standout Jacoby Wade has started the season strong.
He was awarded Yarnell’s Sweetest Play of the Week for Week 1 for his 99-yard punt return against Bentonville on September 6. He also had 5 tackles that game.
“The Bentonville game started they year off good and hopefully my teammates see that and want to continue,” he said.
This accomplishment was hard fought as Wade suffered serious cramping in the 3rd quarter.
“My pre game hydration wasn’t the best that week. I had been drinking water, and I took a liquid iv the day of, but I was sweating a lot. I really needed to get back in the game, so I was eating pickles and drinking pickle juice to help with the cramping,” he said.
Wade has big goals for the season though. “I hope to earn all state honors and to lead the team on to win state,” he said.
Over all, as long as he’s hydrated, Wade is set to lead the Cats through a sweet season.
