Something people might not know about senior Heath Owens is he’s a master crawfish chef.
On a recent trip to Houston, at their cabin in the woods, the boys left at 4 pm with a goal to have a crawfish boil. He said cooking can be hard. “I didn’t want to mess up my first time because it was very expensive” he said.
“The hardest part to me is the timing of everything like how long they need to boil or how long they need to rest with ice,” he said. “All of these things get easier the more you do it.”
While they cooked, the friends played a few friendly games of baggo. His friend Max Owen was his partner, and they faced some tough competition in Blake Kordsmeier and Thomas Ford. “They were a big challenge. It came down to the very end, and we won 21-19” Owen said.
He was proud of the Crawfish boil experience and loved how they tasted. His friends enjoyed it so much they ate all 60 pounds.
They plan to do it again when crawfish are back in season.
