Caring Cats held the annual Powder Puff game in support of to benefit CHS Special Athletes on October 16. $2000 was raised to benefit the school’s unified sports teams. The senior team won the game 34-6.
The game is a fun twist on football where the girls are playing the game and the boys are cheering. The event is a major fundraiser put together by the club’s nearly 350 members.
Each buddy group was tasked with selling the $2 tickets to different people around the school and in the community. Additional tickets were sold for $3 at the gate. The groups are also in charge of raising money for their assigned buddy so that they have the chance to win Buddy Homecoming. The buddies who had the most money raised in their names were honored as the Caring Cats Homecoming King and Queen at halftime. This year’s King and Queen were Ayden Judd and Shelby Dillard.
“Powderpuff is my favorite event every year because of how inclusive it is. It’s the best of the school coming together to support each other for a great cause,” said Hailey Haynes, Caring Cats Sponsor. The club is now looking toward their annual Angel Paws gift drive.
