The Conway baseball team has been rolling through the 7a conference, beating every team they have played this year. The end of the season will be a test for Conway because the number of games on the road will be tough. The Cats will have to play conference rivals like Bryant and Cabot, and also will take on some new competition in LRCA.
The team is loaded with lots of talent in the junior and sophomore classes. Juniors Max Holland and Shaun Cover are ranked top in their class and are committed to 2 different D1 schools. Though Max Holland started the season injured, but has come back with a very hot bad and has hit a couple of home runs in his few games back. Shaun Cover has been the man behind the plate and has hit the ball very well. Another two juniors, Silas Cicero and London Stewart, have made their case as top performers this year. Silas Cicero is playing shortstop and doing good in his pitching outings. They have always done good at the plate by racking in a good amount of RBIs.
The Cats are led by seniors Thomas Ford, Blake Kordsmier, Max Owen, Malik Simpson, Jackson Robnett, and Beau Billeck. These guys lead with their intensity and vocal presence. Thomas Ford says, “You have to be loud and get people on the same mindset to win big games.” Blake Kordsmier added, “If we stay aggressive on the base path and stay intense in the dugout, the rest will follow. We will keep the momentum going and keep the bats hot. Our pitching has been good all year, so as long as it stays hot as well, I think we have a great chance.”
