Many Conway high school students placed in competitions at the National Beta Club State Convention. The convention was from January 24-25 in Hot Springs. Ruthie Johnson placed 4th in drawing, Harry Lance placed 4th in social studies, Alan Rathmann placed 5th in social studies, Samir Menon placed 4th in mathematics. Cade Smiley, Allison Purtle, Samuel Chesshir, and Andre Walker placed 3rd in Quiz Bowl. Logan Wilmington was elected State Beta President. “It’s so special for Logan to be elected as State President because it’s a lasting legacy that will follow him for the rest of his life,” said Brick Cullum, Co-Sponsor of the Beta Club. Beta Convention is a meeting of over four thousand Arkansas students who are passionate about academic achievement, community service, and making a difference in the world.
