Conway School District’s newly formed Student Advisory Council held their first meeting April 11. This meeting was the beginning of a new organization begun by the superintendent of Conway himself. The ten members met with Mr. Collum to discuss the issues the high school students felt they were faced with. This meeting was held in the CPSD Administration Building, and it lasted from 3:30 to about 5:00. Issues such as academics, diversity, safety, school services, and technology were touched upon. The next meeting will be held April 25, 2022, and is only open to existing members at this point. At a later date, there will be applications released for joining the Council. Attendee and member, Alekhya Kavi comments, “I thought the meeting was honestly exciting because I felt like I could make an actual change. I felt like I could make a difference at our school and other schools.”
