Reading for Reason is a brand new club being started by Avery Ferguson at Conway High School. It is a club where students will learn about current, and historical, events through reading. The first, informational meeting, will be September 20, 2022 in Mr. Cullum’s room, 251. The club because, although CHS has one other book club, there was not a place to create a community centered around reading, but centering on topical issues. There are currently posters being put up around the school that detail more of the club’s information. Many students are excited for the club to begin and Mary Caroline Grimes stated, “It’ll be am amazing experience to find books that center on the issues I care about.” The club hopes to see a great turnout and have members of all different backgrounds join in order to get a very diverse viewpoint.
