The Conway Wampus Cat Golf team concluded their season October 3-5, taking home 3rd place at the 2022 State Tournament at Paridise Valley Athletic Club in Fayetteville.

The Wampus Cats rolled through the regular season, finishing second place or higher in all of the Cats tournaments before settling for 3rd at state. Conway boasted multiple all-state golfers this season in Collin Spangler and Blane Burk. Burk and Spangler also received all conference honors.

Spangler will continue his golfing career at Southern Arkansas University, receiving an athletic scholarship to play for the Mulriders. “I’m so happy to have been able to call myself a Wampus Cat these past 4 years. I’m looking forward to helping out my team at SAU, whether that’s me playing or growing my game.” said Spangler about his time at Conway and his future at SAU.

Despite the team not completing their ultimate goal, the Wampus Cats still had an exciting season that the program can build on for years to come.
