The Conway High School Mock Trial team competed this past weekend, February 11, in the Arkansas Regional Mock Trial Tournament. The Conway team did fantastic as they took home the title of Mock Trial Regional Champions. The mock trial team competed in two rounds on Saturday- one against Little Rock Central High School and the other against Russellville High School. Conway took home wins against both teams, ultimately winning the entire tournament. The win allows them to automatically advance to the Arkansas State Mock Trial Tournament held March 4. This tournament will be at the Pulaski District Courthouse. The competition was held at the Pine Bluff Courthouse and housed teams from all across the southern and eastern region of the state. Ultimately Parkview High School and Russellville High School’s A team advanced to the state tournament from this region as well. Avery Ferguson, a member of Conway’s mock trial team expressed, “I was extremely proud of how we all performed at the tournament. It was such a new experience that we all were able to have and everyone took it in stride. I’m excited and nervous to continue preparing for the state tournament.”
