On March 28, Conway Baseball played host to Cabot in a big conference matchup. The two powerhouse teams were tied at the top of the 6A Central standings, starting conference play at 2-0. Conway pulled out the 6-3 win, giving them the edge over Cabot in the conference.

Conway’s signature pitching style made another appearance, in which they utilized 4 different pitchers over the 7-inning game. Preston Prock got the start, while Prestyn Ribbing picked up the win in relief. Prock also launched a massive home run over the center field wall to swing the momentum in the Cats’ favor. Cabot started off hot on both the offensive and defensive ends, but they ran out of steam late in the game. Conway took the lead in the 6th inning and shut down Cabot in the 7th to pick up the win.

Conway sophomore and starting third baseman, Thomas Ford, said, “It was a super fun environment that produced a tough game and a big win.” Consistency on defense has been the Cats’ mantra, and they’ll look to continue this streak with a tough conference schedule ahead of them. The baseball team faces off against Jonesboro on March 30, followed by Little Rock Central on April 4.
