CHS Volleyball held its annual Pink Night fundraiser to benefit CHS Student Terrance Blake II Thursday October 24 at the home game against Benton. Blake is a CHS soccer player and Key Club member who was recently diagnosed with High Grade Glioma Brain Cancer.
Every aspect of the evening resulted in funds going directly to Blake and his treatment, from shirt, ticket and meal sales to the players completing a coin collection in the days leading up to the game. The popular silent auction offered many items including Razorback Football tickets, $400 dollar value facial bundle, a private deep sea fishing trip in Destin, a TV, a BNA landscaping package (1200 dollar value), and deer camp bundle ( including a heater, tent and feeder).
Though the Lady Cats lost to Benton in three sets, all involved were able to leave the game feeling like winners after having contributed to a good cause together as a family. “Pink Night is important because in a district this size, we are able to see every single campus rally together to raise an incredible amount of money. I think we often feel very disconnected from the other campuses around Conway but during Pink Week, the Lady Cats are able to go to each elementary school, the 7th graders sell pink beads, and the junior high does a change drive as well. It really is incredible what we can do when we all work together,” said Assistant Volleyball Coach Chelsea Fason.
