Sylvia King picked up her first softball when she was 5 years old, and she has never looked back! She is now a member of the Conway High School softball team and the Impact Gold travel team. Her older sister, Sofia, encouraged her to start playing softball. Sylvia says, “I look up to my sister, Sofia King, because she made her mark on Conway, and I want to follow in her footsteps.” Sylvia’s lucky number is 9 because that was her dad, cousin, and sister’s number. Her main positions are pitcher and shortstop, but she is considered a very versatile player. Last year, Sylvia earned All-Conference at the end of her season for the Wampus Cats! Her favorite thing about softball is, “The competitiveness of the game and getting to play with her friends.” Sylvia started playing on the Conway Softball team last year as a freshman, and this year is her first year attending Conway High School. Sylvia claims that her favorite thing about high school so far is how big it is and getting to see new people. Sylvia is also a member of DBS, a high school social sorority, which includes socials and events that she is looking forward to later in the year! After high school, Sylvia plans on trying to play college softball at Oklahoma State University. Once her softball career is over, Sylvia strives to be a sports broadcaster. Sylvia King may just be getting her high school softball career started, but she has a big future ahead of her!
