This season’s boys soccer team aims to kick things into high gear after winning 2-1 against Searcy High School on March 3rd. “The sky is the limit for this group. The team has hard workers that are willing to do what it takes to get the success we deserve,” said Hayden Page, a senior member on the team. After previous years of winning the state championship 3 times in a row they plan to get back in their groove and win a ring this upcoming season. With their goals set , the team plans to succeed their own expectations as they perform their best on the field.
Jesse Fernandaz and Eric Zonmerono are two seniors who have important roles this year on the men’s soccer team. Both athletes have a total of two state titles under their belts and are even hungrier this year. Fernandaz does not think he played too well in the last game against Searcy and says “there’s a lot of room for improvement.” While at practice, Fernandaz competes very hard to make himself and others better so everybody benefits from a good practice. Zonmerono has been playing soccer his whole life. He is more of a quiet leader, he leads by example rather than using his voice and speaking up. Zonmerno played great in his last game and playing great should be the “ standard” for how he plays moving forward. Both seniors are hoping to have the same season and want to become the best players they can be while making everyone else better.
