The Conway High School band gave the people of Conway their first performance on the CHS football field at the Cat’s home opener against Jonesboro September 10. The band put in hours to perform the first part of their three-part show titled, “Out of the Blue.” The song that they performed almost perfectly was, “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin. The performance left spectators with a sense of pride as the vibrant and bold sounds of the band lit up the field. In order to perform such an astounding performance, the band had to practice drills and memorize music for three weeks prior to the game. CHS senior, Annalia Walker, says, “The hours and hours of practice leave me physically exhausted, but the performance is always worth it in the end.”
