The Conway Volleyball Team lost in the semi-finals at the state tournament in Northside, Fort Smith, Thursday night to Fayetteville.

The match went to four sets, Fayetteville taking the first one (25:20), followed by Conway(20:25), then two more to secure Fayetteville’s victory (25:19), (25:15). However, their season was not primarily reflected by the outcome of the game. The team had an undefeated conference record which Madison Holloway was “very proud of.”

The team fought hard in their second round match to send Bentonville home in a five set match the night before. Their spirits were high as they made their way to the hotel to rest before the next day’s big game. They had watched immense game film, maintained their stamina, and ultimately felt prepared for the event. Therefore, the loss was “extremely disheartening” to the seniors that would never step foot on a volleyball court as a Conway Volleyball player again. Although each girl put the best of their efforts, they fell short in achieving their hopes of sending Fayetteville home as well. Even though the loss was devastating to the team, they maintained pride in all the other accomplishments achieved in the 2021 season.
