Bullying is a problem that consumes every aspect of the victim’s life. Unfortunately, with the rise of social media, bullying is a more common issue than some might think. Bullying has always been an issue- especially in a high school setting. However, with the rise of social media and cell phone dependencies, bullying has become deadly.
Due to the large audience social media provides, bullies are receiving a larger platform to hurt people. With trends like “#bringbullyingback” reaching extreme popularity, bullying is not only being sustained by social media but also promoted. Apps such as Instagram and Snapchat allow bullies to access victims’ lives beyond the school walls.
Because of the anonymity that social media offers, people feel encouraged to act differently than they would in an average face-to-face conversation. People need to be taught that words hurt and that a digital footprint is permanent. True anonymity will never exist, and that needs to be made clear for a true change. Schools that don’t address off-campus bullying, despite it affecting school life, are allowing a hostile environment in their schools and student body. We as a community need clearer policies and collaboration to hopefully discourage cyber bullying. Student relationships are the backbone of a school’s function.
Social media intensifies bullying; therefore, it is necessary to reconsider our idea of student protection, both online and offline.

This was a great way to express the way bullying trends are coming back to social media, and to show that anonymity is never going to be the case because everything you post there’s always gonna be that digital footprint. I like the way she expressed this in a way that shows bullyings true colors and how it affects your school life and that it isn’t an okay thing to do.

Reading about this makes me realize just how much bullying is getting more and more common by the day. This post has made me realize way more than I have known, so please do make more!

This writing gives an accurate description of an inside look into bullying and how it affects students. The way you accurately represent people as a whole when it comes to bullying shows that you would be good at reporting on similar major issues.

This is very good, and a much needed message that needed to be shared! I’d love to see more on this topic and maybe even some of the students perspectives.

This is a very captivating story, I love how it encourages the fact that we need to put an end to the issue of bullying, reaching states of online to offline, in its extreme rate of popularity. I think your future projects will be great, as for I suggest making more recent/particular environment.
