The Conway High School Beta club had their new recruit initiation on Thursday October 26th, at 6:00p.m. The meeting was held in the School’s Cafeteria, where parents and friends could watch their students get honored. The assembly was led by the club’s host Brick Cullum, the club president Ellie Feng, and the club vice president Alahna Alexander.

Each student inducted was given a certificate representing their membership, and a pin. At the end of the ceremony The President and The Vice President lead the students through The Beta Club oath. Cullum, who has been hosting beta for the past 5 years, states that, “ I love working with all of the students.” He goes on to say, “ One of my favorite things to be able to do is the Convention in January, because it really helps people find what they love, and are good at.” Convention for this year will be January 18th and 19th.

Ellie Feng, who was voted Member of the Year at the initiation, voiced, “ I love the Community here, because all of my friends are so motivated and generous. They really aspire to help people.” When asked why she loves being Vice President, Alahna Alexander recalls, “ It’s probably all the opportunities I get to participate in, and all the people I get to meet.” Both of them express that they love being able to congratulate the newly recruited. They all put in a lot of effort into the meeting, so seeing the generous outcome brings forward a very close and connected community. Beta hopes to see a continuous growth within the club, so many more students are able to help their community.
