On February 14,, the ninth grade blue side basketball team made their way to the Conference Championship ending their season as victors with the end score of 48-40! Down by two at halftime, the girls anticipated the contemplation of a loss, but by the fourth quarter they fought and pulled through to come back to school the next day with another trophy to add on the shelf. Not only did they end the season as Conference Champions, but they had an undefeated season going 27-0 as well. The girls practiced to win their whole season working together as a team to maintain the perfect year they had together. Getting to school at 7 a.m. each morning is no easy task, but they did it nearly every single day to keep their drive focused and eyes on the prize. “I’m so grateful for such a humbling experience and I’m so thankful for all the friendships that I have made! I would not trade this team for anything in the whole world. I’m beyond grateful for their constant push for me to be the best I can be and always being there for me when I needed it the most. So thankful that I get to experience something so special,” Karsen Roach says.

As well as their ability to play, the girls were close and looked at each other as a second family. Despite the victory and amazing season, their practices and even traveling together was what made the season so fun and rememberable to each of them. Hardworking girls that come together with the same goal in mind and determination is what makes a team a family! The blue side girls’ 2018-2019 team deserved everything they obtained within all the work and effort they put in. What a year!
