On Mar 31, 2023, A tornado hit Arkansas. The area that was hit was primarily the Little Rock and greater Little Rock Arkansas area. Countless homes and buildings were destroyed and thousands were left without power. The day after the tornado many volunteer groups went to Little Rock to help out wherever they could. One of the groups was a group organized by New Life Church which has a large campus in Little Rock. With many Conway High School students being heavily involved in the New Life Conway campus, many jumped at the opportunity to help out. Sophomore Caleb Collum, a member of New Life Conway who volunteered with the efforts, recalls the day of volunteering in the relief efforts by saying,” I really loved serving the people who got hit by the storm because it showed me how powerful it can be when a community comes together with the same goal of being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.” Volunteers such as Caleb went house to house asking victims of the tornado what they needed help with and clearing debris. Countless other groups also helped with the relief efforts all with the goal of helping those affected get back to their normal lives. Even in times of tragedy, we can see communities growing closer together for the greater good.
